Google launched their most anticipated product lineup which we know as the Pixel 6 Series. Although the Pixel series is not new in the world of smartphones, for some reason the whole Android smartphone community was quite excited about this launching event. This is the first time that Google has offered its own chipset (Tensor) in addition to the flagship level specs in the camera, design, and other segments that surpassed the previous generation Pixels. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Google and a long time ago leaked a specification and the hype reached its peak as many OnePlus phones did before the launch. The reality is that it takes a lot of time for a flagship series to mature, a great example of which is Google's Pixel 6 series since we've had a lot of bugs and glitches in this series since its launch, which is unusual. Since unofficial smartphones are still being used in Bangladesh, many people may buy this Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro. So we thought of discussing all the hardware/software bugs together in one article so that you can get an idea of almost everything at a glance. So let's get started.

  • Display

There are a lot of display bugs online, with some bugs being more common and some bugs reported by only a few users. The most prevalent bug is displayed flickering. If the Pixel 6 Pro is in a closed state and if light pressure is applied in that state which is not enough to power up, then the display is seen flickering. This seems to be a hardware issue but Google has stated that this is a software bug that will be fixed in the December update.

The most commonly reported issue on displays in Pixel 6 series phones is "Rainbow-effects". Although it can be seen if the display is seen from slightly curved. A Reddit user is the first to report it. Interestingly, Google's Customer Service informed someone that this is a feature on OLED displays. But we do know that flagship phones usually use good quality OLED panels where this issue is not seen.

A test on the Pixel 6 Pro phone showed that the 60Hz refresh rate consumes more power than 120Hz. Even more bizarre is the fact that 120Hz consumes more power in low brightness conditions.  The bug may not be possible to fix in a software update.

  • FingerPrint

The Pixel 6 & 6 Pro came as the first in-display fingerprint (optical) rich smartphone pair in the Pixel lineup. But for the first time, some bad impressions were received. First of all, we know that the optical in-display is slower than the Ultrasonic, while the Pixel 6 & 6 Pro's in-display fingerprint is slower than other phones with other in-display fingerprints. Most of the time it is a condition that cannot be unlocked for the first time. Google has officially responded to this issue by saying that this is due to the use of enhanced security algorithms. Even though it sounds funny, they have identified it as a feature, not a bug.

While slower-than-normal fingerprint sensors continue to be an advantage, the story of this fingerprint sensor does not end there. A radiator reports that the fingerprint sensor is no longer working after the phone has run out of battery and the phone is unlocked with a pin after turning on the phone, meaning the icon for unlocking is not showing on the display. The truth of the matter is that many reports on this issue have been seen in the Google issue tracker. At present, a factory reset is the only solution to this problem.

  •  Fast Charging

There is plenty of room for doubt as to whether this is actually a bug or a scam. As you know, this time Pixel phones have not been given any kind of charger in Google and Box. The buyer has to buy a 30W fast charger at a separate cost of $ 25. Now if you spend extra money to buy a certainly rated charger then naturally you will want to take that full potential. But Pixel 6 and Pixel Pro users do not have that opportunity at the moment. Since its launch, users have been complaining about unusually slow charging speeds. Which made the video an overnight sensation. It turns out that Pixel phones can be charged at a maximum speed of 22W, which is only 13W on average. Charging speed becomes abnormally slow after taking less than the first 50%, in 50min.

  • Others

In addition to these three major issues, some other bugs/issues have been reported. One of which is the bug in the auto brightness feature, meaning that the brightness of the phone fluctuates unnecessarily without much of an environmental change. This is most likely due to a problem with the auto brightness algorithm or still being in the learning stage. Some users have faced issues like ghost dialing. Which made the video an overnight sensation. Google has admitted this and it may be fixed soon. Many of the latest Pixel users in the UK have faced the issue of the network becoming unavailable on their phones. Although it is auto-fixed after a while. In addition, issues like random reboots, many times media automatically pauses, and many app lags/crashes have been reported on Reddit / XDA which can be a bug in Android 12.

Early phones may have several bugs for a variety of reasons, which are not uncommon, many of which may be fixed in a software update. If there is a hardware issue then most likely there is nothing to do. Hopefully, Google will pay more attention to quality control in the front pixels and offer us some of the best flagships.
